The beautiful piggy bridesmaid may have stolen the show on this special day. Hannah Devine, a plumber from Cornwall, and Glenn Devine, a carpenter from the Netherlands, were married in the Netherlands on June 29th of this year.
They now live together in the Netherlands after meeting in the Caribbean three years ago with their 20-month-old baby pig, Babe.
Babe was seen posing alongside the bride and groom on the big day.
Hannah said: “We knew she was going to be the center of attention on the day.
“With the coronavirus making things so much more difficult, we decided that we wanted our wedding to be just us, as our family and friends from England were unable to make the travel with the regulations at the time.
“Of course, we celebrated with our family and friends in the Netherlands, and Babe role for the day meant she was able to fill the space of all those who couldn’t be there.
“To say she did a good job is an understatement – she was so calm throughout the shoot and listened to us perfectly.
“We predicted something wrong could happen and prepared some raspberries for her just in case, but luckily the big day wasn’t one of those where she pretended to be hungry and eat like a pig – pardon the pun.
“We know for sure that she enjoyed the day; She was treated in every way by us and many others and went to bed a little earlier than usual.”
The couple decided to purchase Babe after looking for a pet to fit into their busy schedules.
Hannah added: “Glenn and I talked a lot about getting a dog, but with both of our busy work schedules, we decided it wasn’t possible.
“On our first trip to the farm, we deposited a piglet that would arrive six weeks later.
“However, we received the call earlier than expected, as she had a piglet leftover from a previous litter that needed a home.
“We immediately agreed to bring her home, making her part of our little family.
“She is like a spoiled, single child now.
“For the most part, we would best describe her as sweet, dramatic, and a little bit a mamma’s girl.
“I once read someone describing owning a mini pig as having a three-year-old with the personality of a cat, but with sledgehammer legs, which I would say is very accurate.
“She never failed to keep us on our toes and keep smiles on our faces. “We couldn’t have imagined our wedding day without her.”
