See the thrilling stages of a Cheetah stalking its prey to go into a full-throttle footrace with a speedy Gazelle.
Photographer Keith Crowley, 56, from Hudson, Wisconsin in the United States spent last month in Tanzania’s Ndutu grasslands to photograph endangered big cats.
A female Cheetah chases, stalks, and k.il.ls a Thomson’s gazelle, but her carcass is subsequently stolen from the mouths of her cubs by Spotted Hyenas.
“It was exciting to witness the unadulterated speed and stealth of such legendary creatures.”
“Before this one, I had seen two other kills, but the gazelle ran towards me for the first time, and it was incredible.
Cheetahs are in a critical situation as their habitat shrinks, and I traveled to Ndutu specifically to see them in their natural habitats before they are gone.
“Being there to watch four separate ki.lls and the interactions between the cubs was an unforgettable experience.
“I’m very fortunate to have seen what I saw in Tanzania.”
