Circuses go wrong for many reasons. The pitiful wild animals that are supposed to be free in the wild are forced to perform tricks for the sole purpose of entertaining humans.

Toshka also went through such a terrible experience. For more than 25 years, this old bear has been part of the circus.

But after living in a cage for a while, Toshka was finally rescued, and the way he took advantage of the moment was truly heartwarming.

The rescued bear was recently taken to a sanctuary in Satanov, Ukraine, where he finally has a chance to live in peace for the rest of his life.

A life that Toshka seems to be enjoying to the fullest. But that was not the case in the first place. A few days after arriving at the sanctuary, the poor bear was so scared that he hid all day.

But as soon as he realized that everyone here gave her nothing but love and comfort, Toshka revealed her true self – a gentle, friendly giant.

“Toshka is scared of people: he hasn’t left the bushes for two weeks,” a staff said. “For most of his life, he was a circus bear, but now he’s here for rehabilitation and life support.”

Now, the rescued bear can’t have enough sunny days and showers that it is spoiled for bathing. A recent shot shows Toshka enjoying a cool shower in the sun. With the recent temperature in Ukraine higher than 95 degrees, it’s no wonder why Toshka is enjoying it so much.

“The care and concern melted his heart,” said another staff. “Now, his favorite pastime is sunbathing. He has a sitting position and is willing to sit for hours.”

Watch Toshka enjoy his new favorite routine:
