These Asian Elephants find themselves treading carefully as they graze halfway up the mountain.
In an astonishing set of photos, the animals were seen sophisticatedly making their way through vegetation in territory more favorable for nimble little climbers.
With a severe drop just to their left, this was not the time to be caught by flat-footed.
The photos were taken by graphic designer Santhosh Palaniswamy in Kothagiri, India.
She said: “I went to Kotagiri to see birds, but on the way, I saw 11 elephants grazing on the mountainside.
‘I could only wonder how the elephants manage to climb the hills. It’s a very slippery mountain, and I don’t know how they balance.
‘They seemed to cling to the mountain edges like goats. And I didn’t just see it once. The first time I missed my chance to get a good photo because of the bad weather. ‘
