After getting caught in the mud while taking a bath, this adorable baby elephant had to be saved by its mother’s huge trunk.

The youngster was taking a leisurely swim in the lake when it became trapped while trying to pull itself out.

The calf was rescued by its mother and her trusty trunk, which served as a crane after she carried the three-month-old calf out of the water.

The tiny elephant was able to move away from the watering hole once it had finally made it back onto dry land.

Ken Watkins, a photographer from Greyton, South Africa, traveled to Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park to photograph the elephants.

‘Small elephants occasionally fall into the water in the national park, and this one couldn’t get out,’ 64-year-old Peter said.

‘I was concerned about the calf, and it took its mother just two minutes to haul the stranded kid out of the water.

‘When the mother dragged the calf to safety, they both walked away into the distance to dry off.’
