A baby elephant was pulled out of a 25-foot well almost 16 hours after it fell in. It occurred in Mahulapunji village, Dhenkanal, Odisha’s eastern state.
A JCB digger created an instant track for the young calf which had fallen into the well.
On Tuesday morning, villagers discovered the elephant in the well after hearing its distressed wails.
The rangers informed the forest department, and a team of forest officials arrived with a JCB machine to save the calf.
After the operation, the elephant was seen walking to freedom into the greenery.
