This is the adorable moment a baby elephant slips and slides as he tries to lift himself out of the mud bath before finally falling back in.
Cute footage shows the animal getting up on hind legs after following larger elephants up the slope.
But after trying to lift his right foot to the edge of the pool, he lost his balance and fell back into the mud.
The baby elephant’s adorable efforts to follow the herd were captured at Kruger National Park in South Africa.
At the beginning of the clip, the elephant can be seen following a much larger herd member in a mud bath.
Splashing his feet into the water, he made his way towards the slippery shoreline as the larger animal easily clambered onto dry land.
He placed himself on his hind legs and raised his front feet to grip the top of the bank as he prepared to climb up.
But when he pulled his left hind leg upwards, the elephant was completely unable to reach high enough, and after stumbling for a second, he tumbled into the water again.
Two of the older elephants can be seen returning to help their younger brother after he ended up back in the pool.
Making a second attempt, the youngster was assisted by his two siblings with their trunks as he went up to the bank.
Finally, still supported by the trunks of the bigger elephants, he yanked up to the shore and ran to the nearby dry grass.
