Pigeons are one of the most common birds on Earth. They seem to be perfectly adapted to the city’s busy life, and therefore they do not have the best reputation.
These little ‘beggars’ are over, and they’re all ready to steal your ice cream when you’re looking the other way!
However, there is one very unique species of pigeon that could save its reputation – the rainbow pigeon!
Recently, a photo of a pink-necked green pigeon has caused waves on Twitter. Netizens call it “hot pigeon”, and it will definitely make you look at pigeons with different eyes from now on.
Bearing an incredibly vibrant plumage, this pigeon seems to have nothing in common with its city-dwelling cousin.
It’s pretty easy to guess where its name comes from, judging by its green, pink, blue, and yellow coat.
However, do not rush to spot such a magical pigeon in New York City because you will probably be disappointed. And that’s because rainbow pigeons live in Southeast Asia, mostly in mangrove forests.
Unlike their cousins who live in crowded cities and eat almost anything, these multicolored pigeons are very selective in fruit and nut-based diet.
