When this Wisconsin family went fishing, they all hoped to have a relaxing day. But few knew that they would all become heroes hailed for saving a young bear’s life at the end of the day.
Brian Hurt, his wife Tricia, and their son Brady were fishing on Marsh-Miller Lake when they spotted something huge struggling to swim ashore.
They immediately approached it to investigate and couldn’t believe their eyes when they realized it was a giant bear in dire need of help. The poor animal got his head stuck in a plastic bin, and he could barely keep his head afloat.
Then the rowers knew they had to do something because otherwise, the bear would have drowned. So they put their lives to save the helpless animal. “He was not going to make it to shore, I’m pretty sure of that,” Tricia told CNN. “We knew we had to do something. It was really huffing and puffing. ”
The dramatic moment was captured on film by Brian’s wife, who eventually shared it on Facebook. It quickly went viral! “We were very excited,” she said. “We did our good job today… and it felt good to help the poor bear. You don’t like to see animals struggle. We wanted everyone to know that the bear is fine. ”
Tricia wrote on Facebook: “Never did we dream that we would do this in our lifetime.” “Yesterday was out on Marshmiller Lake with Brian Hurt and Brady Hurt when we spotted this poor bear. He made it ashore after all that.”
