A cute baby elephant was filmed amusingly flailing around in the mud as it attempted to get back on its feet.
Michelle Broadhurst was on a trip through Kruger National Park, South Africa when she captured the video.
In the video, the mud-covered creature can be seen lolling on its side as it wades through the brown muck.
An adult elephant is standing nearby as the calf rocks back and forth energetically.
It seems to be striving to get back on its feet, flailing around wildly with its trunk.
After a while, the calf is able to roll itself over onto all four legs and rest its face on the ground. Finally, it drags itself for a few moments longer.
Michelle originally recorded the footage, and the clip has recently resurfaced online.
‘It genuinely appeared like he was attempting to do sit-ups,’ she added.
Elephants utilize their legs to shake the ground. The front feet are anchored on one side, while the rear feet are used to support and protect them. Their powerful hind legs propel them forward in a stride or two, allowing them to lunge into trees at alarming speeds even while carpeted with grasses.
‘They really are adorable.’
There are thought to be a minimum of 17,100 elephants living in the Kruger National Park.
Elephants are the world’s largest land animal, weighing up to seven tons and standing over three meters tall at the shoulder. They have a potential age of 70 years.
