An elephant a.t.tacked a bus with passengers from Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar and Calicut in Kerala as they entered the Bandipur Forest region on Sunday morning.
A minibus driver had gone close to a herd of elephants. One of the passengers captured the assault with his camera, and others can be heard screaming in the background.
One of the elephants charged towards the bus, forcing the driver to reverse for over 500 meters. The elephant could be seen charging at the video. It smashes into the car with its trunk, causing damage to the windscreen.
The elephant ran away without causing any additional damage. The passengers, who are heard screaming in terror, were terrified by the entire incident. In the event of an accident, there were no in.ju.ries.
Every day, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., the Bandipur forest is shut to allow animals to move freely without being disturbed.
