Elephants are generally kind and harmless, although a video of one charging towards a government vehicle has appeared on the internet.
The clip was posted on Twitter by IAS officer Supriya Sahu and the driver’s excellent behavior during the whole situation is being applauded online.
According to local news sources, the incident occurred near the Munnar Deputy Superintendent of Police station. In the video, a government bus driver stopped his vehicle after seeing an elephant on the road.
However, the elephant charged toward the bus just seconds after, causing passengers in the vehicle to scream and panic.
The elephant smashed the driver’s windshield, but he didn’t lose his cool. He handled the problem in a calm manner and drove away after the animal retreated.
“Don’t know who this government bus driver is, but he is certainly Mr. Cool. The way he handled the supervision check by Mr. Elephant, it was like business as usual between them,” reads the post’s caption.
After being published online, the video had over 15,000 views. The driver’s calm and daring demeanor was praised by internet users.
“Wonderful display of courage and presence of mind by the driver,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Yes. He is really cool. It even broke the wind-screen, yet he maintained his cool.”
