A wild elephant attempted to block up a vegetable vendor’s van in Thailand, forcing her to reverse out of the way.
A video emerged of a huge animal heading towards Rungthip Ketpradit’s vehicle in Chachoengsao province, southern Thailand.
The video begins with Ms. Ketpradit filming as an elephant strolls down the street, drawn by the vegetables in the truck’s back.
Ms. Ketpradit attempted to flee the animal as it got closer to her vehicle. However, the beast was not deterred, so Ms. Ketpradit slammed the van into gear and pressed down on the gas pedal.
Her astonishment grew when the beast kept pace with her down the road and only relented when she outran it.
I was trying to get out of the way, the elephant was attempting to eat the vegetable kept in the back of my truck.”
‘We were scared, but it didn’t hurt us.’
Some conservationists even think some elephants have evolved to prefer meals provided by vehicle traffic over wild food.
However, elephants can pose a serious risk to humans in Thailand.
