An elephant in the room is often the cause of tension, arguments, and fighting.
But a video has emerged of an elephant doing the exact opposite as it acted as a peacemaker in a fistfight between two ostriches.
In the clip, a wise young elephant in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, broke up a terrifying fight between two outraged ostriches.
The large birds were filmed hurling vicious kicks at each other during a heated controversy.
While the ostriches fastened their feathers, a large bull elephant began to approach to get a better look at what had caused the uproar.
The beautiful animal ambushed towards the pair, silently observing them for a few moments.
But he clearly decided that their argument was more than just an annoyance when he began to tickle his ears.
According to biologist and conservationist Joyce Poole, who shared her research on elephant body language with National Geographic. Ear-spreading is known to denote aggression.
However, the ostriches didn’t seem to get the message and continued to spar.
As if to say “enough is enough,” the elephant decided to raise the ante – and let out an almighty trumpeting roar before rushing towards the arguing couple.
The busted-up birds dispersed logically, bringing an abrupt end to their conflict.
