An elephant caused a huge traffic jam after it stopped a truck to chew sugar cane. Cars stopped after the giant animal roamed the busy highway. The male elephant pokes his trunk into passing trucks as he searched for freshly harvested crops.
He stayed there for two hours and stopped 12 different cars before heading back into the woods. Arnie Banpho said, “It was a huge elephant, so no one was brave enough to go near it and push it back into the tree. The car he drove was very slow, and there were big snakes while they waited for him.”
“The elephants in this area are very friendly and don’t hurt anyone,” said Kovit Boonphanuk, head of wildlife care. He just wanted something to eat. Truck drivers are aware of elephant drives that frequently cross the road, but the trucks are unusual to stop. ”
He would warn anyone passing an elephant not to play and try to keep their distance. Let the elephants continue with what they are doing, or they will get angry.
