Anyone who has ever tried to bathe an animal, especially a big one, will probably tell you that it can be a real struggle.
But this baby elephant in Thailand proves that it’s not always as difficult as you think. In fact, it’s actually quite interesting.
Videotaped by a tourist who dubbed the Double Trouble elephant, the excitable animal was filmed diving straight into the tub, pawing at its side, tripping, and falling straight into the water.
After balancing overhead for a moment, looking as if it was struggling, the elephant managed to turn back and start splashing around – seemingly unaffected by its less graceful descent into the water.
Returning to its feet, the elephant turns towards the man bathing it, who is believed to be Claus Jorgensen, the Danish tourist who later posted footage from the Kraal Royal Elephant and Village in Thailand.
But the excitement wasn’t over for the baby elephant. It kept jumping back out of the tub and trying to steal the faucet, making the surrounding tourists laugh.
The video ends with Double Trouble jumping back into the tub more enthusiastically before a woman and a little girl spray the tub into the tub.
After rolling delightfully in the water, seemingly enjoying its additional shower, the elephant grabbed the trunk from the girl and her mother and ran off with it in its trunk.
Their popular Elephantstay program allows visitors to care for the animals, and guides are available to show them how to best feed, bathe and interact with them.
Since 2000, the Royal Kraal Elephant Breeding Program has resulted in more than 60 births.
The most recent birth recorded on their website was in December 2014, when an elephant named Oijai gave birth to a baby boy named Plai Kotchasuwan.
