These amazing images capture the delighted looks on the faces of an exceedingly rare blonde seal cub.
Rare blonde fur seal photographed on South Georgia Islands
Despite being an oddity, the blonde fur seal was treated as a herd member by its fellow species.
The seal didn’t care that its fur color prevented it from rubbing noses with its pals and rolling in the grass to enjoy the sunlight.
Blonde seal pups are quite uncommon; it is thought that they account for less than one percent of the fur seal population.
The charming photos were taken on the South Georgia Islands by renowned wildlife photographer Roie Galitz earlier this year.
Blonde seals are more likely to be at.ta.cked by predators because of their appearance, as they may stand out from the flock.
Roie added: “I spent about two hours next to this adorable little fur seal cub.”
It was hard to leave him and move on to other photo shoots because he was so adorable.
The Blonde Seal is quite uncommon, and this was the only blonde cub in a sea of brown seals.
“You could tell that everyone was behaving in almost normally with him.
“I guess they don’t judge according to colour.
“It appeared to be a beacon of light, standing out against the crowd.
“You couldn’t help but fall in love with this adorable cub.”
