The beautiful white reindeer almost vanishes into the winter landscape of these magical winter photographs.
Despite its deceptive camouflage, the adorable pure white deer was not afraid as it “posed” for photographs in Northern Norway’s snowy mountains.
When photographer Mads Nordsveen was on a camping trip with friends in Norway, he came across the nearly mythical beast.
“I was walking in the mountains looking for gorgeous vistas for my travel photographs when I stumbled upon this adorable little creature,” said the 24-year-old Austrian photographer.
He was on the verge of touching me when we looked each other in the eyes. “He was rather relaxed when he saw that I was calm and pleasant, almost as if he were posing for a photo.
“He was very inquisitive and amusing. He reminded me of a bit of explorer. “The mother of the baby reindeer emerged from the bushes just behind after several minutes.
“It meandered around for a few minutes before returning to its mother. It was truly mystical, and it felt like a fairy tale moment. “We might meet again one day.”
The genetic mutation of the white reindeer causes their fur to be devoid of color, allowing them to blend in with their snowy environment.
They’re not albino since their eyes, and occasionally antlers are still tinged with darkness.
