Winter is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year because of the white fuming snow and ice. Iceland is one of those destinations where winter never fascinates us. Trees, houses, roads, and almost everything are covered with ice.
The mystical quality that snow and ice add to nature is worth admiring and worth capturing in a frame. Drew Dogget, a New York City-based photographer and filmmaker, captures the wonders associated with this destination in his series of photos called ‘In the Realm of Legends.’
He has successfully highlighted the “unique relationship between this land and the horse” through his photo collection.
“Iceland is a surreal place, and horses are the perfect companions for this incredible yet breathtaking land; the combination of the two is truly unforgettable,” Drew Dogget said in an interview during the interview.
According to him, he believes he’s often attracted to capture scenes in inaccessible locations. Dogget also said that he was inspired by Iceland after reading Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea when he was a child. It was this book that created the urge in him to travel around the world to experience adventures.
The stories behind these fanciful photos are challenging because of Iceland’s unpredictable weather.
However, witnessing this two-week shoot that Drew has been planning for months will surprise you as it’s clear that his hard work has finally paid off. Drew believes that viewers will no longer feel nostalgia, inspiration, and imagination after experiencing his photos.
