A group of tourists on a safari were shocked when they were confronted by an angry elephant that burst into their car by smashing through a window.
The 5-ton monster terrified German tourists in South Africa, forcing them to make a hasty retreat from the dangerous situation.
The unusual encounter was captured on video by one of the tourists.
The Germans were on safari in Kruger National Park in search of wild animals at the time of the incident.
They came to admire a herd of elephants, including a young one, as they crossed the road.
However, two massive males then emerged from nearby foliage locked in a fierce fight.
Without warning, one of them broke off from the tussle and charged toward the tourists’ van.
A panicked woman inside tried to pull open a window to keep the animal out, but this proved futile.
The elephant easily smashed open windows, showering passengers with shards of glass.
In the video, frantic holidaymakers can be heard shouting ‘go, go’ to escape the vicious elephant.
At that point, the tourists managed to get out and avoid serious injuries.
The terrifying attack should serve as a reminder to anyone who goes on safari that even the most peaceful-looking animals can in fact pose a danger in the wild.
