A safari group in Kruger National Park, South Africa, had the surprise of their lives after a massive lion swooped in on the picnic they attended. Most likely, the giant male was intrigued by the delicious flavor of beef steaks, so he decided to participate.
A group of people from the UK was enjoying the sunset while the staff at the accommodation was preparing a buffet when suddenly a lion decided to ruin their plans. Naturally, both tourists and people run away when they spotted the wild beast so close to them.
When everyone jumped out of the cars for their own safety, the uninvited guest approached the table full of food. The lion sniffed the delicious food for a few moments, but it wasn’t too impressive. So he then took his own in the bushes.
As soon as a guide reassured everyone, the lion was gone, and the picnic continued. The host said his guests were lucky to experience such a close encounter with a wild lion.
Chris Taylor said: ‘It’s very unusual to have been to a drink stop in such a short period of time. “We all sat and watched as he slowly approached. He posed for a few seconds and continued. I’ve had other animals roam past, but usually at a much longer distance. ”
