This is the touching moment when a kind man steps in to help a hopeless moose reunite with its mother. The tiny animal got stuck over a railing in Anchorage, Alaska when a kind Samaritan jumped in and saved the day!
Earlier this week, Joe Tate was returning home from a fishing trip in Alaska when he got stuck in a traffic jam on the highway. But after only a few minutes, the man realized the reason behind it. A mother moose and her baby want to cross a highway, but the guardrail proved to be an impossible challenge for the tiny moose. Even the mother managed to get to the other side, and her child stuck because of the tall guardrail.
After almost 30 minutes of waiting with no change, Joe decided to step in and help the baby moose. So he got out of the car, jumped over the guardrail and took the confused baby into his arms, and help it reunited with its desperate mother waiting impatiently on the other side of the highway.
It was exhausted, young, maybe a week and a half old,” Joe shared. “I mean in the possible time, something else could have happened. Nowhere close to expertise, but I had some knowledge of what to do and what not to do and handled it as best I could. ”
Although no one was harmed this time, wildlife officials say encounters with wild animals could be extremely dangerous for both the animals or the people willing to help them. However, Joe, who has been in the military for more than 15 years, said it would be too much for the moose if he hadn’t saved it. And wildlife officials have confirmed it. “This time, it worked, but we always encourage people to call in the experts,” Alaska fish and game biologist Dave Battle said.
The touching rescue was caught on camera by one of the drivers. Andrea Bock witnessed the adorable sight, and soon after she shared a few snaps on Facebook. His post immediately went viral with thousands of people expressing their gratitude to this true hero!
