A fox that has scavenged food from a back garden in Birmingham has been photographed grinning from ear to ear.
The delighted vixen did not seem to have any second thoughts as she posed for Steve Downer in his yard in Acocks Green.
Steve snapped the cunning creature before she quickly moved on to try her luck elsewhere.
The 62-year-old befriended the fox and often finds her in his back garden in an evening.
“She’ll reach out with her hand and let me film her from a few inches away,” he said.
“When she first appears in the evening, she pokes her nose against the conservatory door and taunts our dog nose to nose through the glass.
“If the dog isn’t there, she will come into the conservatory to take food.”
