A photographer has captured the hilarious moment a gull flails around the water, attempting to wash its back.
While walking through a botanical park in his native Istanbul, Turkey, Fatih Keles came across a gull in the water.
It appeared to be washing itself – but it playfully rolled about as it attempted to get its back.
“The gull looked like it was attempting to clean its back – it was a really amusing moment,” Fatih added.
“In the early morning the gulls love cleaning themselves and in the photo, it was trying to clean its back in a different way.
“I had a grin on my face and thought it was hilarious when I took this series of photos!”
