This dramatic video captures the tense moment when an angry bull elephant slammed its tusks at a pair of tourists after turning their backs on the large mammal.
The incident occurred in Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools national park, where Irishman Stephen Montague and brother-in-law Shane Wolf were having dinner.
In the video, the elephant approaches the pair cautiously and appears to be scouring the ground, searching for food.
Meanwhile, the two men kept silent and tried not to look at the animal, hoping that it would calm down and eventually leave.
However, the elephant decided it wanted to get closer to the tourists and took a few confident steps towards them.
It then threw its head forward and to the side and directed its tusks at one of the men.
The tourist anticipated the blow and tried to hold on to the tusk to protect himself from being pierced by it.
The elephant then jerked its head in the other direction and stabbed its tusks into the second man.
The impact caused the visitor to fall backwards and onto the table as the crockery hit the ground around him.
The large mammal then turned away from the tourist when a guide tried to drive it away with loud clapping.
