Just lion around! This is the strange moment when an entire pride of lions decided to take a snooze – 15 feet up in a tree.
Lions napping up a tree in Central Serengeti, Tanzania
At least 15 of the creatures were photographed lounging on a sturdy tree in Central Serengeti, Tanzania.
While it may appear as though they were searching for food from the vantage point, photographer Bobby-Jo Clow from Dubbo, Australia, revealed that the laid-back pride was attempting to flee flies in the tall grass.
The lions were caught on camera lounging on the branches of a sturdy tree
“We were on a photographic safari in the Serengeti when we came across this amazing sight.” “Bobby-Jo, 32, stated.
“Our guide saw the pride in the trees, and luckily we were able to get close enough to the lions to take some truly unique photos.
“We were close enough to hear their vocal interaction, and some of them snoring in the trees.”
The lions can be seen enjoying some relaxing time in the safety of a high tree
“There were 15 lions in one of the trees; it was an incredible sight.”
“It was also somewhat amusing at times, as the lions seemed to be a bit clumsier when moving and re-positioning themselves in the tree. One lioness had an incredible potbelly that she was letting all hang out while perched in the tree.
The laid back pride were trying to escape flies living in the long grass
“Our guide informed us that because of the recent rains, the grass in the Serengeti was particularly long and that lions climbed trees to escape the insects that thrived in it. When your guide pulls out his camera and starts snapping photos, you know you’re looking at something unique.”
