Tourists had a welcome surprise when they were greeted by ELEPHANTS while kayaking. The holidaymakers were promised a magical experience at a private eco-camp in Northern Laikipia, Kenya – and the company certainly delivered!
The kayakers could get up close and personal with the massive mammals while they played in the water.
Three elephants surrounded a very thrilled pair, while a tiny elephant clung to its back.
“We are now able to get up-close and personal, paddling very near to the elephants as they swim and play in the water approaching them by kayak and keeping upwind.” According to a speakerman of Ekorian’s Mugie Camp,
“There are several different herds on Mugie with which the elephants interact, including bull elephants, matriarchs, and their calves who come to swim.”
“It’s incredible to watch any of them, but especially the calves, as they play and splash, wrapping their trunk around their mother’s tail for balance.”
