A proud lioness appears in a series of photographs, chastising her sheepish partner after a mating session.
Shayne McGuire was on safari in Kenya’s Massai Mara when she observed the two lions mating.
However, after they had finished the mate, the lioness began to scream at him, causing him to cower in terror.
“The lioness presented herself to him, which usually results in a short copulation.”
The male completed his act, at which point he experienced this emotion.
“His expression was priceless: after the act is completed, the female has a typical reaction; but, typically, the male roars in retaliation.”
“But not this one – he generally looks like ‘oops, wow, the missus is upset!’
“She settled down right away!
When she feels pain, her instinct is usually to look for the male who has caused the pain.
“The male has a quick mind, and he can get away before the female does any damage – the female’ s pain is only momentary; therefore, she doesn’t pursue him again.”
