Take a look at these AMAZING pictures that have been discovered and released for the first time of a Herring Gull “walking on water.”
The photos show a Herring Gull gliding across the water as though it were walking on the water’s surface.
Swedish photographer Martin Hadmyr, 45, from Helsingborg, Sweden, captured the nearly biblical pictures.
They have never been seen before now after he rediscovered the pictures in 2013 – and after initially ignoring them, he decided to put out a photographic collection at a second look.
“I was boating in a Norwegian fjord, which is famous for its sea eagles and sturgeon, to photograph White-tailed eagles,” he added.
“It was one of those rare days when the wind didn’t blow, and the gulls followed the boat. They occasionally alighted in the completely motionless water.
“I was about to take the shot when suddenly one seagull started to walk on water. I really wanted to freeze the moment because of this reflection, which showed the bird just barely touched the water.”
The incredible pictures are one-of-a-kind, and they might have been lost if the button had been pressed just a fraction of a second before or after. The bird’s reflection is also perfectly synced as it flies close to the water, demonstrating an impressive degree of synchronization.
Martin said: “I have been passionate about taking pictures all my life.
“For me, nature photography is the ideal mix between enjoying the wonders of nature, being outdoors, and creative expression.”
