Shocking footage shows an angry elephant slaying a crocodile after it stalked her calf from the shallow of the Zambezi River.
A giant female African elephant fiercely at.ta.cked a crocodile during a brutal a.tt.ac.k before a safari party in Zambia.
In the Lower Zambezi Valley, traveler Hans Henrik Haahr filmed the footage while on a safari with a group from Baines River Camp.
The dramatic video shows the elephant slamming the alligator’s head, which appears to be between eight and 10 feet long.
As the crocodile plunges below the surface, the elephant relentlessly crushes the smaller predator.
After a further minute, the elephant grabbed the crocodile’s tail and lifted it out of the water.
The crocodile did not struggle, indicating that by this stage, it was de.a.d or seriously inj.u.red.
Mr. Haar, from Århus, Denmark, described the encounter as ‘shocking’.
Baines River Camp shared the video on its Facebook page, writing: ‘Guests witnessed this dramatic sighting unfold between two of Africa’s most feared mega-fauna.
‘Perhaps this was revenge at.t.ack prompted by earlier ambush attempts by many crocodiles on her young or larger herd.
“Whatever it was, this cow was here with only one intention.”
The safari company added: ‘While this footage may be difficult to watch, it shows how rough and harsh life can be in the bush. ”
