The world’s favorite Migaloo whale may return to Australian shores sooner than expected.
Photos emerged showing the whale swimming off the south coast of Victoria, sending a lot of Migaloo fans into a frenzy.
Marine scientist Dr. Vanessa Pirotta said: ‘We’re not 100% sure, but it could be him as he is part of a large population that normally migrates at this time of year.
Although, Dr. Pirotta points out he is also known to migrate off the coast of New Zealand.
“There’s clearly more than one white whale out there; we definitely know there are humpback whales with lots of white but not all white,” she said.
Migaloo was first sighted in 1991 and has been seen circling the Aussie waters ever since.
