A giraffe was filmed in a snotty situation at a watering hole by a tour group on safari.
The picture was taken by 29-year-old Shaaz Jun, who owns and runs Safari camps in East Africa and India.
They were traveling near Amboseli National Park in Kenya, seeking African Bull elephants, when they saw the giraffes heading to the water hole.
“We were waiting by the water hole for one of the big elephants to come and drink at sundown.
“Herds of zebra and giraffe drifted in and out to quench their thirst, and on them arrived the Oxpeckers birds, which graze and feed predominantly on large mammals.
“The giraffe’s unusual way of quenching their thirst allowed the flurry of pesky Oxpeckers to follow the trail of water left behind as it lifted his head after drinking.
The images show the giraffe sneezing as water shoots out of its mouth.
“The burst of water, the birds in flight, the giraffe in motion, and the lovely sunset glow all came together to create an exciting and unique moment.
It was the least expected thing in the world, which made it so incredible.
“We came to look for elephants, but we had no idea a giraffe and his troop of Oxpeckers would steal the show.
“I’ve spent over a decade in Africa and have seen many interactions between Oxpeckers and huge mammals, but nothing compares to what we saw that evening.”
