This is a humorous moment that a mischievous baby elephant approaches a group of tourists on a safari trip, before tumbling and rolling in the sand.
In the video, shot from a vehicle in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, South Africa, the elephant appears to be seeking attention as it charges at the group, halts, and then makes another little charge.
The creature then drags itself backwards to charge at them once again, creating lines in the dirt road with its feet.
A few seconds later, its giant mother emerges from the bushes and strides across the road.
The calf rapidly lowers itself in the grass and sand, picking up a stick immediately in front of it and curling it at the end of its trunk.
Two more adult elephants then appear behind the mother, and not wanting to be left behind, the little calf chases after them as they cross the road to the grass on the other side.
When it reaches its mother, the calf folds its front legs at her feet and leads the way into the waiting grass.
‘It was a unique encounter for myself and the passengers on board the safari. An incredible encounter with a tiny creature!’ said one of the group members after filming.
