This poor mum had no chance of a LION IN.
The sleepy lioness looked like she needed just ten minutes more shut-eye as the sun rose over the Kenyan Masai Mara.
But her young ones didn’t let her do that.
After waking up, the tiny lions were in a good mood and went about leaping all over her.
After shutting her eyes and hoping they would go away, mum eventually gave in and allowed them to snuggle.
German photographer Ingo Gerlach took photographs of the adorable family moment.
“It was 7 a.m. when the lion family suddenly appeared in the early morning sunshine,” Ingo remarked.
“They were very successful hunting-wise last night, and they were eating a freshly caught gnu,” he added.
The young lions’ instincts were awakened by the warm sunshine. There were two particular individuals, a male, and a female, who began to play. The children’s activities came to an end for the day when their mother carried them back home.
“The young guy was quieter and more uncoordinated, while his brother was more energetic and began to quarrel.
“The older lions bravely endured everything she threw at him, including gnawing and growling at them, while she gave her cousin a few swipes with her front paws.
The whole event, which lasted around ten minutes, was accompanied by the female cub’s cries.
“Play fighting is an important part of the development of young lions, and it’s only via such activities that they can discover their role in the pack.”
