At first glance, it looks like any other tree.
But look a little closer, and it starts to resemble something else.
One motorist believed that the tree looked like an elephant.
Sean, 49, from Goole, said: “The ivy has grown up over an old stump and looks like a trunk and the rest of the tree looks like ears.”
And he’s not the only one who’s noticed.
Drivers along the A614 between Goole and Pocklington in East Yorkshire have been doing double-take at the tree that bears more than a passing resemblance to an elephant.
Sean, from Goole, added that the tree is actually a mixture of ivy and the remnants of an old beach and the oak tree.
He said he’s been driving past this place for a few years now and had always thought it might one day look like an elephant when the ivy had grown.
Sean said: ‘I always thought if that ivy grows any more, it will look like an elephant and yesterday we drove past it, and there it was.
‘It’s on the road between Goole and Pocklington; I guess you could call it the trunk road now.
“The ivy has grown on an old stump and looked like a trunk, and the rest of the tree looked like ears.”
