This is the stunning moment a pair of whales get up close and personal to a group of tourists ‘blowing rainbows’ into the air.
Returning to the beach after a day of scuba diving in Lahaina, Hawaii, this group of unsuspecting tourists is in for a real treat. Some curious humpback whales swim alongside their boat to welcome them back.
As if being mere inches away from these remarkable creatures wasn’t enough, the giant mammals then emerge from the water’s surface, spurting air from their blowholes, creating an incredible rainbow above their heads.
The amazing trick is performed by the humpback pair numerous times, with different colors of red, orange, yellow, and green being suspended in mid-air by the water mist generated by the whales, to the surprise of those tourists.
Greg Gallent from New York, USA, said: “It was fantastic to be so close to such a fascinating creature.”
The whales were originally 300 feet away, but they gradually moved closer and closer until they were directly next to the ship.
“I was able to truly appreciate the size and magnificence of these gorgeous creatures.
We were completely astonished and didn’t think it could get any better, then they began firing rainbows into the air.
“We couldn’t believe our eyes; it’s the most spectacular and mesmerizing thing I have ever seen.
“I feel so lucky to have been there and witnessed it.”
