These are the amusing images of squirrels demonstrating that they are the animal world’s natural acrobats, showing a variety of odd activities.
The furry animals are seen performing the splits and balancing on various things ranging from ordinary tree branches to sweetcorn and carrots with their legs stretched out.
The lovely photographs were taken by Geert Weggen in his home’s back garden in Bispgarden, Sweden.
The photographs were taken over a year, with Geert putting out food for the squirrels in the hopes of drawing them into his yard.
Geert, 48, said: “In all images, the squirrels are placing themself in an excellent position to have dinner.
“I spend most of my days waiting for squirrels. They’re a carefully-planned event. I leave food where I hope these squirrels will be able to find it.”
“I frequently have to wait many days for one image. It’s a great feeling.”
“When I was 16, my interest in photography began. Squirrels live in the woods near my home, and I enjoy creating photographs.
“It’s wonderful to follow them and witness their incredible accomplishments, which I can then express artistically through photography.”
