Meet the Ili Pika, the most adorable creature you’ve probably never heard of.
This magnificent creature is one of the rarest and most endangered species on the planet, having been seen for the first time in 20 years.
They have an estimated population of fewer than 1,000 individuals, all of which reside in China.
They were first discovered in the Tianshan Mountains of China in 1983, and their population has decreased by more than 70% since then.
The rabbit is a common symbol of love, connection, and affection. It is often compared to a teddy bear since they are both associated with family favorites.
Li Weidong, an international conservationist who discovered the creatures, told CNN:
“I discovered the species, and I watched as it became endangered. If it becomes extinct in front of me, I’ll feel so guilty.”
