This cute little sheepish-looking creature appears to be ashamed.
The bobbly surface of the tiny fluorescent sea slug resembles the white woolly farmyard animal.
However, its tiny eyes, pink dots as “nostrils,” and two small tentacles resemble those of a cow.
Adelie penguins and sea slugs are both known for eating leaves. Like its popular animal counterparts, it also consumes plants.
With its diet consisting entirely of algae, the leaf sheep has a further trick up its sleeve.
It’s the only creature able to photosynthesis, it can steal the chloroplasts from its meal and incorporate them into its own body, a process known as kleptoplasty.
This helps turn the leaf sheep into solar-powered little creatures.
They were captured on pictures at the Melasti diving spot in Indonesia’s Bali Sea by Ajiex Dharma, a scuba diver, and photographer.
Ajiex, 31, said: “I am a professional guide in this area and have been diving since 2009.
“When you’re scuba diving, you see all sorts of creatures, but these are by far and away from the cutest and most adorable sea life I’ve ever seen. They appear to be quite unique.
“When I look at the photos, the Shaun the Sheep cartoon character always comes to mind.” “The face is very similar.”
