An elephant was caught using a rock as a scratching post for his behind in South Africa.

The creature was observed utilizing an anthill to remove itself from the irritating discomfort caused by Ilza de Wet, 50.

She captured the moment on video while vacationing with her husband, Johan de Wet, 53, at Sable Valley in the Kruger National Park.

Ilza from Centurion, South Africa, recounted the hilarious moment: ‘This video was not at all prepared, and it came as a total surprise to me.’

We were standing beside our vehicle watching a herd of elephants at Sable Dam when this young bull remained behind after the others had gone. He began scratching against an ancient anthill.’

Unfortunately, I only captured the final 40 seconds of his scratching because he spent around 3 minutes doing so.

We were thrilled and surprised to have captured this on video.

‘It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and while I hope we do, I’m not sure we’ll get something comparable again.’
