These funny pictures show a marmoset just hanging out with an odd and unlikely friend – an iguana.
The female white-fronted marmoset can be seen giving the green iguana, who is almost bigger than her, affectionate kisses and even a little nuzzle.
The curious monkey appears to be giving its mate a little massage before it starts licking around, just like another primate.
These incredible pictures were taken by Conny Schmidt, from Dusseldorf in Germany.
The 58-year- old had heard of their friendship before, as they are well known in the area, so she went to Germany to take some photos.
“They seemed to have a real sense of trust in each other. The marmoset was extremely curious, and it was touching the iguana.
“I had heard about them and their relationship as it is well known in the area, so these weren’t just lucky pictures.”
