World Elephant Day is celebrated all over the world on August 12. It is dedicated to the protection of the gentle giants.
Netizens have been sharing adorable and touching videos of elephants to celebrate the day. However, one video in particular caught our attention for a unique reason.
Wildlife photographer Jayanth Sharma tweeted the video, and it shows a huge tusker in Kerala attempting to find food for itself in Kabini.
Jayanth shared the clip with the caption, “Here’s a beautiful scene where this massive Tusker in #Kabini makes his way through dry bamboo to get to the juicy part of the plant. Let’s celebrate the gentle giants on the #WorldElephantDay 2020 (sic).”
The video shows an elephant trying to make its way through dry bamboo to reach the plant’s juicy part. The giant pulls the stem of the plant with full force in order to break it and make way for itself.
It’s possible to observe it going deep into the bamboo thicket at one moment. He begins eating the sweet part with delight on his face once he has successfully extracted it.
The sound of the birds and insects in the forest adds to the footage’s beauty. The lovely video was seen over 550 times on the internet.
