In Coimbatore’s Tamil Nadu, a wild elephant wreaked havoc by pushing a car into the bushes off the road, trapping a guy inside.
E Balu (45), a resident of Pollachi in Coimbatore district and an ambulance driver, lives at EB Quarters in Pollachi. He was traveling with his family in two vehicles through the Anamalai Tiger Reserve on Sunday.
The wild tusker pounced on the group as they traveled through the Navamalai region out of the thick bushes. The group attempted to reverse the vehicles but could not do so because the tusker blocked the first car and forced it into the forest in a matter of seconds.
Forest officials who were passing by at the right time came to Saravanan’s rescue and successfully pushed the bull back into the deep forest region.
They rushed to the scene and rescued the man from the vehicle, who escaped with only minor injuries but was horrified when the tusker viciously at.tac.ked his vehicle, which was caught on camera by one of the forest guards.
According to officials, the public was warned about wild tuskers prowling in the area, and they were forbidden from going there between 5 p.m. and 10 a.m.
However, some local residents refuse to listen, which leads to such man-animal conflicts.
